About the Client

Industry: Healthcare
Location: Europe (Norway)

The client is a technology provider delivering digital healthcare solutions for medical organizations. They needed to deliver a mobile app MVP for patients undergoing spasticity treatment. The project involved collaboration with medical universities and hospitals in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway.

The Spasticity Diary aimed to simplify patient-doctor communication and help users effectively track their treatment goals and rehabilitation progress. The app provides an intuitive way for patients to log daily activities and easily share insights with healthcare professionals.

The Challenge

The client was tasked with building a Spasticity Diary mobile app for both Android and iOS devices with a supporting web admin tool. To start rapidly, they needed a dedicated cross-platform development team ready to handle both mobile and web components simultaneously.

What made this project unique was the collaboration with medical professionals and university staff from multiple countries. Every app feature had to be aligned with clinical workflows, which required careful coordination with non-technical stakeholders.

Given a clear project timeline of nine months, the client couldn’t afford delays from recruiting or onboarding issues. They needed specialists in Flutter, React.js, Node.js, UI/UX design, and an experienced project manager who could integrate into their existing workflows without extended ramp-up periods.

The client chose DOIT Software for quick access to pre-vetted developers who could start immediately and maintain consistent productivity in a remote, multi-timezone setup.

The Solution

After the requirement analysis, DOIT Software started to shortlist qualified candidates from its pre-vetted talent pool, focusing on the following skills:

Flutter Developer: Experienced in cross-platform app development and local data management.

React.js Developer: Strong background in front-end development for web admin interfaces.

Node.js (API) Developer: Proficient in backend development and stable API integration between mobile and web platforms.

UI/UX Designer: Able to deliver an intuitive app design tailored for medical staff and patients.

Project Manager: Proven ability to coordinate development with ongoing input from medical and university staff across multiple time zones.

For developer roles, DOIT prepared a project-specific test task in collaboration with the client team. The assignment focused on implementing a daily activity logging flow, similar to how patients would track rehabilitation exercises inside the app. The main goal was to check how candidates handle form state and local data storage in offline-first mobile scenarios.

Each candidate completed the task after the initial HR interview as part of the selection process. Then, our senior engineers reviewed the results and conducted technical interviews to assess practical skills.

For the UI/UX designer, DOIT recruiters conducted structured interviews combined with portfolio reviews. After internal validation, we presented a shortlist of 2-3 candidates per role for the final interviews with the client team.

The Results

01

Initial consultation to first candidate CVs: 5 days

02

Total roles filled: 5 specialists (Flutter Developer, React.js Developer, Node.js Developer, UI/UX Designer, Project Manager)

03

Cooperation timeline: 9 months

As a result, the spasticity diary team approved candidates for all five roles in under two weeks. DOIT tech recruiters’ efforts helped the client reduce staffing timelines by at least two months compared to internal hiring. Throughout the project, DOIT maintained regular communication with the spasticity diary team and managed administrative overhead, including tax compliance.

With a fully integrated team in place, the client successfully completed the Spasticity Diary within the planned 9-month timeline. The application is now available in the app stores and is actively recommended by medical specialists across Nordic countries.
